- How to Use the Handicap Within DBK FILE: HH.HLP
-
- When playing, record your shots as you normally would. Make sure to
- record ALL strokes taken. When the round is completed, or between
- holes, record the adjusted score. The adjusted score is one that
- complies with the ESC (Equitable Stoke Control) as per the USGA
- handicap manual.
-
- The results input form has a field that is used for handicap
- purposes. This is where the adjusted score is to be entered. If
- you do not wish to maintain a handicap, simply enter the unadjusted
- score.
-
- Once the round has been entered and saved, the summary can be run.
- However, if you have entered less than 5 rounds of either 9 or 18
- holes, it will not be possible to produce a handicap report. This
- is not to say that the other summary reports cannot be run. It is
- possible to summarize after only a single round.
-
- One last thing about handicaps. If you do not adjust, your handicap
- will be overstated giving you an advantage in handicap events. For
- this reason it is very important that only adjusted scores be
- recorded if the handicap report is to be used.
